A full consultation will be given before performing any tattoo service. You will fill out a consent form, please be sure to bring your ID so it can be copied. A topical numbing cream will be applied. You will be given aftercare instructions and aftercare ointment to bring home with you. It is recommended to schedule your included follow up prior to leaving the office.
You are not a good candidate if you: are under 18 years of age, are pregnant or breastfeeding, are allergic to lidocaine, are undergoing chemotherapy, have a skin condition directly on the area to be tattooed, are prone to keloid scarring or have used Accutane in the last year. If you have a specific condition and are unsure, you can speak to the artist through a consultation.
For cosmetic tattoos, a medical grade topical anesthetic will be applied prior to beginning your session and throughout the appointment to minimize discomfort. For tattoos, a Tattoo numbing cream is available for purchase at the office.
Do not drink alcohol, excess caffeine or take medications that thin your blood for 1-2 days before your appointment. For brow services, it is best to not pluck or wax the area for 2 weeks prior to coming in. For lip services, it is recommended to gently exfoliate and hydrate the lips for 1 week prior to coming in. If you are prone to cold sores, please contact the artist 1 week before your appointment.
The short answer is no. The skin may be red immediately following your appointment, which subsides within a few hours. Most clients continue on with their day. The pigment will be darker and bolder the first few days and will lighten and soften 30-50% after healing is complete. The healing process typically consists of dry, flaky skin and following aftercare instructions for the first 7-10 days.
The artist will give a full consultation prior to beginning your service and make suggestion on which is recommended for you. You can reference with pictures of how you normally wear your brows or photos from the social media pages that appeal to you.
Cosmetic tattoos are semi-permanent for two main reasons. First, they are done with pigment and not ink. The chemical makeup of the pigments are designed to break down in the skin over time. Second, they are not implanted into the skin as deep as a traditional tattoo. Fading is completely normal and what should happen over time with a cosmetic tattoo done correctly and with professional use pigments.
It is not recommended to get a cosmetic tattoo before a big event unless you plan ahead with enough time to complete your follow up appointment. This appointment allows the artist to evaluate healing and perfect results. Part of the healing aftercare requirements are that you protect the area from direct or intense sun exposure so it is not recommended right before a vacation.
Lip blushing can help define the borders of the lip, and can be overlined slightly to correct symmetry. Lip blushing cannot be performed too far out of the borders of the lips because the lip skin is different from the facial skin and does not have pores. Tattooing pigment too far on to the facial skin will result in noticeable color differences when healing. That being said, lip blushing can be done in conjunction with lip filler (and can be done right at the office!) It is recommended to get lip filler approximately 2 weeks before lip blushing.
Yes! Tiny/ fine line tattoos are done with a wireless rotary tattoo machine and traditional black ink. They are designed to be a finer, more delicate tattoo with minimal shading or thick bold lines.
